Questions commonly
asked:
Is counseling right for me?
If you
have questions you’d like answered to see if counseling is right for
you, or if you’d like to schedule a session, you can reach my answering
service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at (360) 694-4739. I will return
your call and answer any specific questions you may have and discuss
scheduling and fees.
During
your first visit I will learn what your concerns are and the outcome you
want. Couples can find this an important start in sharing their
perspectives more fully, and having a third party to help create a less
charged, more objective listening environment where better understanding
and resolution can be achieved.
How long does counseling take?
Often people want to
know how many sessions it will take to work out their difficulties and
get their lives and relationship issues resolved. This can depend on
the severity of the problem that brings you in. A more long-standing
problem can sometimes be an indicator of the length of treatment. The
most significant factor in moving forward is your willingness to
confront and change your own unproductive behavior.
What about confidentiality?
You can expect all issues
discussed in the course of therapy to be handled with strict
confidentiality. Only with your written consent can any information be
released.
Do you take insurance?
I am covered by some
insurance companies, including:
-
Preferred provider for
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Oregon
-
Participating provider
for Regence Blue Shield of Washington
-
Non-participating
provider (covered at 50%) for
Premera of Washington
I encourage you to
contact your insurance company to see if they cover my services. I am
glad to provide pertinent information that you may need for your carrier. |
